Jaycee's Checkup

Jaycee went in for her 15 month check up today (yeah, a few weeks late, we know). She was supposed to have her regular physical and get some more shots, but she had a fever when they took her temperature! It was 101.5 degrees! She must have just started feeling bad today because she has had no symptoms of anything.

Her weight as of today: 22.8 pounds
Her height as of today: 30 3/4 inches

Jaycee's shots are now scheduled for next week instead. Hopefully her fever goes away quickly. She has been napping, drinking, and eating normal, so hopefully she doesn't feel too bad.

Our day at Sea: Traveling through the Inside Passage

Jaycee and her daddy outside of our "formal" night restaurant. Look at those teeth!

Even after she cried for a moment, she still looks gorgeous. How nice to be her!
Her momentary breakdown (it literally lasted 10 seconds).
How old is this kid???
Our family portrait with the captain (far right) and his crew.
Some beautiful pictures taken from our balcony before leaving for dinner and pictures. Can you believe that it was late? Alaska literally has sunshine for over 18 hours per day in the summertime. The sun rose at 3:50 am on some days and did not set until after 10:30 pm! Even the darkness wasn't very dark, it looked like early morning time. Good thing we had some very thick curtains in the room!

The Day We Left: Vancouver, Canada

June 21st, 2009 (Happy Father's Day DaDa!!!)

This is the view from our room the day we left. We had a wonderful room located at the front of the ship with fabulous views all day long. You can see the beautiful city behind us. Vancouver is a very nice, clean big city. A great place to leave from if you are cruising to Alaska!

Jaycee loved her balcony. She thought the outdoor area was made just for her. She does love the outdoors, even on a huge cruise ship!

Jaycee learned tons of new words and movements while we were cruising, including:

boat

airplane

hot (and she points to all food items that are hot)

blowing kisses (especially to her favorite crew members)

bird (we saw TONS of bald eagles)

please (which she now uses on a regular basis)

she leans forward with her hands on her knees to look at interesting things and people

balloon (she received many from the jewelry store onboard from her favorite crew member Claudia)

She ate like a queen and never missed home once. She settled in with no problems at all and even had wonderful plane rides there. On the way home, she couldn't stop starring out the window. She even saw the moon and kept showing it to me and telling me about it. She is an adventure seeker for sure!

We are now all acclimating to our return home (not an easy transition). More pictures to come. Will do a day-by-day play for you!

Only 8 days until our Alaskan vacation!

Here is the boat we will be on for a whole week! The Norwegian Sun is going to be taking us up to Alaska. We are leaving out of Vancouver, Canada, and cannot wait! It will be Jaycee's very first flight, cruise, and out-of-USA experience (her passport is the cutest thing in the world!). We cannot wait and know that we will get some wonderful pictures. We can't wait to see all the wonderful food that Jaycee will chow down on, see her face when she gets to be on the water, and everything else she will get into while we're there. We are going to have a blast!

Here are a few random pics since I don't have any recent ones. Things are so busy right now. School is coming to a close (THANK GOD), Jaycee is keeping us on our toes more than ever, and Baby Becerra #2 is growing very well. Jaycee has been working on sitting on her potty each night before bath time. She really enjoys it, but especially enjoys getting all the toilet paper at 16 month old desires. She has also been adding new words to her vocabulary like: please, ball, bird, and moon. She loves looking in the sky for birdies and the moon. She is the first one to point them out. She also is able to identify all the inside animals by name (that's Bella, Buster, and Charlie for the dogs and Toby, the cat). Pretty good for a 16 month old.

Baby Becerra #2 Update

Baby Becerra #2 is growing very well. We had another doctor appointment this afternoon and these are the latest snapshots. The heart monitor wouldn't work through the belly just yet, so we got another ultrasound with some pictures! It is very possible that we couldn't hear baby's heart beat because of the movement! This baby can easily be described as a "Mexican jumping bean" to say the least. In the short seconds we saw him/her on the screen, there were hands flying through the air, jumping up and down, and general movement in all directions! We certainly do have another wild child on our hands! :) When Jaycee's ultrasounds were being conducted, the technician always thought she was a boy and called her a "boxer" because of the way she flailed her arms all over the place. This baby appears to be exactly the same! Coincidence? We shall see in a short time.

This picture shows baby's hand way up high, baby's head on the right, body on the left. A pretty clear picture considering we didn't think we were going to get any! :) Who doesn't want extra pics?
