Jaycee's trip to Sea World, again

Jaycee had another successful day at Sea World. Over the weekend we went for another visit and Jaycee met the sea lions. She thought the loud, stinky sea lions were pretty interesting. Apparently Jaycee thought they were strange dogs, similar to the loud, stinky dogs at home. Jaycee was so close to the sea lions, she could have touched them. Luckily her Mommy was slightly faster then Jaycee slipping her hand over the railing.
Jaycee also visited the Arctic Zone, where she went underground and saw a Polar Bear, Beluga whales, and dark aquariums. She did not get scared, nor did she cry all day long. Another success to add to the book of Jaycee adventures!!

And if a successful day at Sea World wasn't enough, Jaycee also visited Mommy's classroom this week! We weren't sure if 30 sets of eyes staring at her was going to scare her, but we couldn't have guessed her reaction. Instead of crying or acting uncomfortable, Jaycee was an absolute ham! She smiled, laughed, clapped, and stole the show. The kids thought she was great and Jaycee thought being back in Mommy's classroom was great. Too bad she can't go to school everyday!

Jaycee also knows (and asks) to hold her bottle during feedings. She can stand alone while balancing on her knees, and is continuing to push the limits. All this kid wants to do is run. . . and run fast!

Jaycee Updates

Jaycee has been adding to her long list of advanced developments this week. She has now mastered the clapping, the saying "mama", and the waving. She has been waving with her right hand, so we are thinking that she will probably be a right-handed little girl. She enjoys playing nicely with her mommy's hair. She combs it with her hands as gently as she can. She also has a clear understanding of when she is being rough and when she is being nice.

As for our scare of the week, Jaycee did have a fall this past Tuesday. Since she has learned to stand, she has decided that walking will be much faster and easier than crawling. Her favorite past-time is holding on to the edge of toys and furniture so that she can balance. . . then let go. Well, on Tuesday, she did just that. Without her daddy's permission, Jaycee decided to grab on to the edge of a toy, and we think, slip off the edge. Needless to say as you can see from the picture, her fall resulted in her teeth cutting her upper lip, a bruise on her nose, forehead, and neck, and a life-flashing-before-your-eyes event for her mommy and daddy. We took her to the doctor and found that there was nothing seriously injured, only the minor cut and bruising that has already healed tremendously well. This kid is a go-getter. Crawling is for babies, Jaycee needs to walk, no run, because she is a big girl in her opinion. At least we got off easy. . . this time.

Blah, blah, mama, mama

Jaycee is talking all the time now. Her favorite beginning word was "blah, blah", which she used on a daily basis for about a week. She also loves to hear her voice, usually while screaming at the top her lungs. Tonight Jaycee finally made the official leap into the "mama" territory. We are not sure if she knows exactly what it means, but she smiles every time you ask her to say it. She's a little bit cheeky like that.

Jaycee has been changing on a daily basis again. She is always trying to walk and enjoys walking while holding hands with Daddy or Mommy. Her toys are much more sophisticated, and her favorite toys are those that she is not supposed to have (i.e. phones, glasses, jewelry). She is crazy. . .
