Jaycee the Reader/the Signer

Jaycee's newest favorite past-time is reading. She loves to read all her books, by herself or with others. She points out everything she knows, and screams "Mama" or "Dada" when we aren't looking with her. She points to the words and demands stories be told too. This is how I found Jaycee this morning after Sunday cleaning. . . She was on the dog pillow, on the Sponge Bob pillow, on top of her blanky, with her Einstein book. Too cute!

This is Jaycee from yesterday. Reading sure is difficult, especially after you've been awake for 10+ hours without a nap. She just passed out, book in hand. Poor kid, it's hard to be a toddler. (You can see the small pile of books she has next to her too.)

Other new Jaycee things:

She has been watching/signing (American Sign Language) to her Baby Einstein movies since she was small, but lately she has blossomed. We have not pushed the signing, but Jaycee has been going crazy with learning and performing new signs all on her own. Here are some of the signs she knows very well (and learned completely on her own!):
tree
trail
mirror
school
clock
bed
telephone
couch
ball
computer
swing
piano

Here are some of the body parts she knows super well too:
eyes
ears
nose
mouth
teeth
tongue
hair
head
fingers
toes
knee
belly button
elbow
shoulder
arm pit
boobies
private parts
feet

We know we are the parents and she does everything great, but that is pretty cool for just 19 months old!
